We are currently seeking a competent and skilled Machinist to join our team at McLaren Composites Technology Centre (MCTC).
What You’ll Do
- Knowledge and application of technical skills to set up and operate machinery, fixtures and tooling safely and effectively to meet the production plan.
- Support Team Leader with completion of minor maintenance tasks/activities and potentially cover when the TL is offsite.
- Upskilling and training of new hires.
- Ensure the work area is clean, tidy and orderly at all times in line with brand expectations and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Provide a proactive contribution to innovation and problem solving.
- Provide support on all processes in the department.
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum of 2 years working as a CNC Machinist with a proven record in CNC machine setting and operation.
- Comprehensive understanding of industry standards and regulations to ensure guidelines are followed and machinery and equipment are operated safely.
- Knowledge of Siemens control systems and CAM/CAD software is an advantage.
- Has developed proficiency in a range of processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job expertise.
- Has an extensive knowledge of CNC tooling including tool wear and performance and setting using pre-setters.
- Comprehensive understanding of work offsets.
- Experienced in calibration using DTI clocks.
- Experienced in using measuring equipment, thread gauges, plug gauges, calipers etc.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to inspect their own work, and follow detailed engineering drawings.
- PC literate.
