Looking for a Street Lighting Electrician to work in Middlesbrough TS2. Opportunity to work on a street lighting contract, specializing in the maintenance, installation, and repair of street lighting.
£18.00 per hour PAYE or £24.08 Umbrella
07:30-17:00 10 Month contract with the option of going perm
Main Duties:
- Install, maintain, and repair street lighting, including wiring, fixtures, and feeder pillars.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in street lighting.
- AM2 qualification, as well as 2391, required to be the NICEIC Supervisor.
- Schedule inspections and test and inspect to BS7671.
- Operate mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs) to access lighting equipment at heights.
- Respond to emergency lighting issues, restoring service promptly to minimize disruption.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including materials used.
- Test and inspect electrical systems in compliance with BS 7671 and perform tasks like SWA jointing and installing cutouts.
- Participate in emergency call-out rota (night work) for Redcar & Cleveland and the Aria 14 network.
- Complete necessary documentation on electronic devices or paperwork, such as job sheets.
- If applicable, install traffic management (Chapter 8), including signage and guarding.
Skills, qualifications & experience:
- Fully qualified electrician, holding an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, or equivalent qualification.
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification (BS 7671).
- Previous experience in street lighting, or similar work.
- City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent testing and inspection qualification.
- Strong understanding of UK electrical standards, particularly related to public infrastructure.
- Full, clean UK driving license, with a preference for candidates holding a category C1 license.
- If you are PAYE you will be supplied with a van and fuel.
