Purpose of the Role:
As a member of the Aero Design team, you will design race car aerodynamic surfaces, wind tunnel model parts, and assemblies. Your role involves contributing to the design process and ensuring the successful execution of development projects.
- Integral member of the Aero Design team, contributing to the design of aero surfaces and wind tunnel model components.
- This role will be working closely with the wider Aero team, including aerodynamicists, CFD, model makers, production team, Wind Tunnel technician, R&D team, and vehicle engineering team.
- This role is factory based but may involve occasional travel.
- This role is predominantly carried out during standard working hours but sometimes includes additional hours and weekends.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Have experience working with different CAD software and are familiar with CAD methodologies.
- You have a good awareness of the FIA regulations and how they impact vehicle design.
- Working effectively with the team on projects and informing the team on project timelines.
- You will contribute to the design of the race car aerodynamic surfaces, wind tunnel model parts, and assemblies, working effectively cross-functionally and collaboratively to meet project deadlines.
- You will contribute to problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Aeronautical engineering or related field experience.
- 3D CAD knowledge.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings.
- Formula Student and industrial experience advantageous.
- Proficient with MS Office.
