Purpose of the Role
Support the team in ensuring our social media channels are active daily, from a regular publishing cadence and community management to proactively ideating and creating short‑form video content.
Principal Accountabilities
- Publish and manage content across all social media channels in line with McLaren’s overarching strategy.
- Create content: phone capture, photography, photo and video editing, graphics preparation and copywriting.
- Ideate and produce short‑form video content for individual platforms.
- Participate in community management across all social channels.
- Collaborate with the wider digital team and external freelancers to deliver engaging content.
- Adhere to team processes, guidelines, and policies.
- Maintain McLaren’s tone of voice across all channels.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Experience in social media publishing and community engagement at a professional sports team.
- High‑pressure live sports environment experience is desirable.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Lightroom.
- Strong copywriting, proofreading, and editing skills.
- Passion for social media community engagement and fan engagement.
- Demonstrable interest in Formula 1.
- Social media platform knowledge, best practices across each channel.
- Proactive communication skills (verbal, email, instant messaging).
- Ability to identify and execute social media trends.
- Experience in motorsport is helpful but not essential.
