Purpose of the Role

As an Indirect Procurement Specialist, you’ll play a key role in supporting the sourcing of goods and services that enable all cost‑cap excluded functions at McLaren Racing—from Marketing and Commercial to IT, Finance, People Team and Business Performance. The team plays a key role in ensuring strategic procurement decisions align with the new cost cap regulations introduced in Formula 1 in 2026, so demonstrating strong initiative, attention to detail and the ability to work proactively under time pressure is key. You’ll support supplier engagement, contract execution and procurement operations that ensure our team has what they need to perform at the highest level.

What You’ll Do

  • Integrate quickly into the team to support daily procurement operations.
  • Take ownership of tasks and projects, working both independently and collaboratively with guidance from senior team members.
  • Support continuous improvement of procurement processes and procedures.
  • Contribute to sourcing activities, supplier communications and data analysis.
  • Assist with documentation and reporting aligned with cost cap compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Ensure procurement activity supports the operational performance and strategic needs of McLaren Racing.

What You’ll Bring

  • A degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong understanding of procurement, commercial and contractual fundamentals, including NDAs, terms & conditions and supplier agreements.
  • A proactive mindset and a genuine interest in high‑performance environments.
  • Previous indirect procurement experience is advantageous.
  • Skills in strategic sourcing, contract management and supplier relationship management.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities, able to partner effectively across diverse business functions.
