Purpose of the Role: McLaren sells a wide range of consumer merchandise and licensed products through authorised resellers, B2B activities and an expanding eComm business. The purpose of this role is to provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the Lead Merchandiser, helping to ensure the smooth running of McLaren’s commerce activities across merchandise, licensed products, B2B operations, and eCommerce channels. The role will support the coordination and execution of key trading and operational activities, including range planning, supplier communication, stock and inventory administration, reporting, and general team organisation. You will assist in maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, tracking actions, and supporting the implementation of processes and best practices across the commerce function. Working closely with internal departments, external partners and suppliers, the role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. You will play an important role in supporting the team’s overall efficiency and helping deliver commercial objectives and KPIs.

- Focus of the role is to support the day-to-day merchandising function and operational deliverables and KPIs for commerce channels
- Based at the McLaren Technology Centre, Woking, Surrey, UK
- 6 Month FTC. Working hours are 9 – 6pm, Min 3 days in office.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the lead Merchandiser and wider commerce team.
- Assist with the coordination and administration of merchandising and eCommerce processes, helping to ensure timelines, reporting, and best practices are maintained.
- Support B2B and eCommerce activities through administration of product ranges, stock tracking, inventory updates, supplier coordination, and reporting.
- Prepare and maintain accurate reports, trackers, documents, and presentations to support commercial decision-making and KPI monitoring.
- Assist with range planning administration, product set-up, and the organisation of product and supplier information.
- Coordinate meetings, agendas, action logs, and communications across internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Support finance and reporting processes, including purchase orders, invoice tracking, budget administration, and margin reporting where required.
- Help maintain clear and organised records of key business processes, contracts, timelines, and project updates.
- Assist in the implementation and continuous improvement of team processes and ways of working to support operational efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with licensing, finance, B2B, digital, and wider business teams to support department objectives.
- Provide general team support, including additional administrative duties and project coordination as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Ecommerce / Retail: Provide administrative and operational support for eCommerce and retail product ranging and coordination with external eCommerce partners. Assist with maintaining product trackers, launch timelines, and product information to support seasonal and ad hoc launches. Support communication with eCommerce partners, internal teams, and licensees to help ensure accurate product listings and timely execution. Assist with the organisation of meetings, updates, reports, and documentation relating to eCommerce and retail activity. Help maintain product launch calendars and ensure key deadlines and deliverables are communicated across teams.
- B2B: Support the administration of B2B product ranges, internal product requirements, stock monitoring, inventory updates, and sales reporting across UK and USA operations. Assist with supplier and licensee communications relating to product development, orders, and delivery schedules. Prepare and maintain reports relating to stock levels, sales performance, margin tracking, and inventory management. Support stock management activities, including clearance processes and end-of-line product administration. Assist with warehouse planning administration and information sharing across relevant teams and partners. Support Salesforce reporting, data management, and system updates where required. Provide general administrative support to the wider commerce team and assist with additional duties as required.
Job requirements Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in an administrative, coordinator, merchandising support, or operational support role, ideally within retail, eCommerce, licensing, or consumer products.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling reports, product information, stock data, and documentation.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to liaise professionally with internal teams, suppliers, partners, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments, including licensing, finance, digital, marketing, and operations teams.
- Comfortable supporting reporting, tracking, and administrative processes across merchandising, B2B, and eCommerce activities.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and flexible approach to supporting the wider team.
- Ability to follow processes while also identifying opportunities to improve organisation and efficiency.
- Knowledge of, and passion for, consumer products, sport and entertainment.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience using reporting systems, stock management systems, or CRM tools such as Salesforce would be advantageous.
- Fluent in spoken and written English (additional languages would be an advantage).
