Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Composites Technology Centre located in Sheffield, on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering effective and efficient reactive, preventative, and predictive maintenance. You will also be responsible for timely reactive maintenance, improvements, installations, inspections, documentation, fault finding and other engineering tasks. Therefore, you will be an experienced fault finder on electrical, mechanical and fluid power systems with an appreciation of the importance of preventative maintenance processes.
What You\'ll Do
- Ensure that your activities comply with health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Establish and develop successful working relationships with a network of local and international suppliers. You will work with contracting resources and OEMs to perform a variety of tasks.
- You will be supporting Research and Development work on future models by providing support, ideas and bespoke items required to develop new processes.
- Monitor and react to feedback from equipment monitoring systems.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance on a variety of machinery and equipment across the site.
- React promptly to equipment breakdowns, communicate clearly and effectively with group leaders and fault find effectively to resolve the issue.
- Support continuous improvement activities by providing feedback to the maintenance team leader on planned maintenance activities and equipment breakdowns.
- Management/supervision of contractors and issuing of permits to work.
- Effective logging and documentation of reactive and planned maintenance tasks using the CMMS system.
- Support the management of critical spares inventory using the site\'s CMMS system.
Qualifications
- Served a full Engineering Apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject (City and Guilds Level 3, SVQ/IVQ).
- Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
- Experience of computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Experience working with hydraulic systems.
- Experience in interpreting and fault finding using electrical, mechanical, and fluid power schematic drawings.
- HNC or HND in a relevant Engineering discipline.
- Experience in robotic fault finding, operation/recovery and maintenance.
- Experience using Siemens TIA Portal to troubleshoot stoppages using PLC logic (Ladder & FBD).
- You will have robust experience in Engineering and Maintenance gained within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work on own initiative but also cohesively within a small professional team.
- You will have the ability to work methodically and calmly under pressure.
