Senior Digital Experience Designer
We’re recruiting a Senior Digital Experience Designer to join our rapidly growing design team. Reporting to our Digital Experience Design Manager you will be part of the team expertly crafting intuitive, user‑centred, and visually appealing digital products. You will combine technical skills, McLaren design principles, and user research to deliver seamless luxury customer experiences. You will work in a diverse design team within the ‘creative strategy’ specifically, alongside CMF/Digital Realisation/Graphics and UX design, to build upon our world‑class design strategy.
What You’ll Do
- Support heavily in digital content, prototypes, and high‑fidelity designs for specific digital products and features across the brand.
- Work with strict adherence to established design specifications, guidelines, and standards, and be a leading influence in taste making and editorial design implementation.
- Conduct comprehensive user research, cascading insights into the team to elevate the user experience.
- Work cross‑functionally with software engineers and digital product managers to collaborate and integrate the digital design strategy onto HMI‑defined bandwidths.
- Build strong relationships with UI/UX engineers to implement luxury design principles adhering to HMI inputs and feedback, creating the best environment for our customers.
- Communicate clearly and efficiently with design decisions and their rationale to cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
- Conduct research of analogous industry research across the digital world of Fashion, Product, Architecture, etc., feeding this into our automotive world innovatively.
- Experience seeing a vehicle programme at key stages of the digital design process, with ability to use hindsight to guide foresight.
- Deep understanding of luxury materiality design principles, human‑centred design, and design thinking, supported by a strong portfolio with a high level of aesthetic and multiple years of experience proving this.
- Degree in Design related field (or similar) or equivalent work experience in a Digital Design‑related role.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with proven experience working effectively within cross‑functional teams and being an excelling team player.
- Ability to clearly articulate design decisions and the rationale behind them to senior stakeholders.
- Robust problem‑solving abilities, with the capacity to iterate and refine designs based on feedback and testing outcomes.
- Strong industry‑standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and future digital systems/tools for enhancement of design work.
- A calm, collected individual that thrives at a fast pace whilst being efficient with their time and workload.
- A digital taste maker with an excellent editorial eye for luxury, across multiple industries.
- Strong resilience to feedback, design direction changes and team support, being agile with time, working location and work travel.
- Flexibility: agile with working across multiple locations whether manufacturing sites, design offices or model workshops, and ability to work remotely in parallel to reacting to the needs of the business week by week.
