Purpose of the Role:

You’ll be joining McLaren Racing’s Business Development team, tasked with developing new commercial partnerships that drive revenue for our 2027 World Endurance Championship Hypercar entry.

Role Dimensions:

  • Lead the sales efforts for McLaren United AS WEC Hypercar team, with responsibility for new revenue targets.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Identify key categories and target brands at established and emerging organizations that align with McLaren Racing’s objectives, McLaren United AS WEC Hypercar Team’s requirements, and the strengths of the World Endurance Championship.
  • Initiate new business opportunities and secure partnerships through prospecting, event hosting, and relationship development.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of new business, including a database of key decision-makers.
  • Manage and coordinate activities such as campaign planning, event attendance, partnership ideation, and sales material preparation.
  • Collaborate with Business Development peers and the wider commercial division to manage the end-to-end sales process, ensuring principles like collaboration, transparency, and accountability are upheld.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven sales experience with a strong understanding of sports sponsorships, preferably in motorsports.
  • Track record of exceeding revenue targets and engaging confidently with senior executives.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to operate outside a traditional office setting.
  • Proficiency with sales tools such as Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Adobe, Cisco/WebEx.
  • Strong communication skills, multilingualism is a plus.
  • Experience in proposal creation, contract negotiation, and understanding legal terminology.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships across all levels within and outside the organization.
