In this role you will lead simulation, modelling, and verification activities to understand and optimize vehicle power consumption.

You will own low-voltage energy demand and drive consumption reduction across the vehicle, aligning targets with benchmarking and programme status.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee simulation, modelling & verification processes to assess vehicle power consumption and ensure methods are robust and aligned with programme needs
  • Drive power consumption reduction and optimisation across the vehicle, supporting trade-off decisions to hit system targets
  • Own technical understanding of all low-voltage consumers and their contribution to overall energy demand
  • Define and manage component power budgets using benchmarks and current programme status
  • Collaborate with systems, electrical, software, hardware, and attribute teams to cascade power requirements throughout development
  • Provide governance and reporting on consumption status, risks, and opportunities for programme reviews
  • Key requirements
  • Extensive experience in vehicle power consumption analysis, simulation, modelling, and verification in automotive/high-performance environments
  • Strong grounding in low-voltage electrical systems, vehicle consumers, and energy demand drivers
  • Practical knowledge of Simulink and System Composer for modelling and verification work
  • Experience defining, managing, and validating power budgets using benchmark data and programme status
  • Proven ability to drive consumption reduction across multiple systems and stakeholders
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to manage requirements, assumptions, and trade-offs
  • Engineering degree or equivalent with strong understanding of electrical system behaviour and energy management
