Overview
In this role you will define and drive the sourcing strategy for chassis components, aligning with technology roadmaps and product plans. You will lead cross-functional supplier relationships, negotiate complex contracts, and push for cost reductions while protecting McLaren’s commercial position. Your work will support multi-million direct-spend portfolios and contribute to supplier performance and continuous improvement. This is a high-impact procurement leadership opportunity in a fast-moving automotive environment.

Responsibilities
- Develop and update category strategies for critical chassis commodities aligned with Technology Roadmaps and product plans
- Identify, select, and manage key suppliers to ensure McLaren is a customer of choice
- Lead supplier nominations with cross-functional support
- Negotiate and monitor complex contracts with strategic suppliers
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, Finance, and Legal to ensure aligned supplier strategies and performance
- Provide expertise on supplier processes, cost drivers, and industry trends
- Prepare annual cost-reduction plans and minimize supplier claims across multi-million direct-spend portfolios
- Deputize for the Manager and support team development
Key requirements
- Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
- Proven procurement experience in automotive or manufacturing
- Strong commercial background and negotiation skills
- Experience managing multi-national suppliers and delivering complex contracts
- Excellent communication, influencing, and organizational skills
- Results-driven, autonomous work style
- Ability to lead teams and drive continuous improvement
- MCIPS qualification desirable
