The Inbound Logistics Leader is responsible for leading the effective, timely and cost-efficient execution of inbound material flows from suppliers to McLaren facilities. The role oversees inbound planning, supplier collections, transport execution and the operational performance of the Logistics Provider, ensuring that material movements are aligned with production requirements and that risks and deviations are identified and addressed promptly. Working closely with Material Control, suppliers, the Logistics Provider and other internal stakeholders, the role ensures end-to-end visibility of inbound material flows, drives adherence to agreed service levels and supports the continuous improvement of inbound logistics processes. The Inbound Logistics Leader is responsible for applying and executing the inbound logistics strategies and processes defined by the Network Optimisation function, while providing operational feedback to support future improvements. The role focuses on operational execution and does not own supplier sourcing, commercial negotiations, Incoterm strategy or logistics network design.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the day-to-day execution of inbound logistics operations, ensuring material availability is maintained in line with production requirements.
  • Coordinate supplier collections, inbound transport plans and logistics activities to ensure efficient and reliable material flow from suppliers to McLaren facilities.
  • Manage the operational relationship with the Logistics Provider (4PL), driving performance against agreed service levels, KPIs and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor inbound logistics performance, identifying risks, trends and opportunities to improve service, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure visibility and control of inbound material movements, proactively managing and resolving operational disruptions and supply risks.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, Material Control, Procurement, Packaging and other internal stakeholders to support smooth and effective inbound operations.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions relating to recurring logistics and supplier performance issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimisation, operational efficiency and service performance.
  • Provide accurate logistics reporting and operational insight to support decision-making and business objectives.
  • Support the implementation of inbound logistics strategies and standards defined by the Network Optimisation function through effective operational execution.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience in inbound logistics, transportation, supply chain operations or material planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience managing logistics service providers (3PL/4PL) and driving performance against agreed service levels and KPIs.
  • Strong understanding of inbound transportation, supplier collections, material flow management and logistics operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse operational performance, identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal and external partners.
  • Good problem-solving, planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience within the automotive industry or a complex manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
