This position provides a clear progression path within a culture that values quality and innovation. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li Structured career development framework /li li 25 days holiday + bank holidays /li li Enhanced company pension scheme /li li Discretionary annual bonus /li li Private medical insurance and health cash plan /li li Life assurance /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Support material investigations including root cause analysis of failure mechanisms and performance degradation /li li Carry out material testing strategies (tensile, impact, fatigue, corrosion, thermal property evaluations) /li li Assist with sample preparation and microstructural analysis /li li Provide material test data and observations to engineering and design teams /li li Support communication with suppliers to gather material information and ensure compliance with specifications /li li Prepare clear technical reports and recommendations to stakeholders for product development and validation /li li Contribute to process improvements in material analysis and help implement new tools or methods /li li Collaborate with team members and mentor early career students within the team /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Bachelor, Master or PhD in Materials Engineering, Materials Science or related field /li li Some industrial experience (internships, placements) preferably in Automotive or Aerospace /li li Basic understanding of failure mechanisms, fatigue behaviour and environmental degradation of materials /li li Familiarity with material testing techniques /li li Awareness of quality standards and engineering best practices /li li Understanding of materials used in the automotive sector (metals, polymers) /li li Interest in deepening knowledge of failure mechanisms /li li Proficiency in CAD and other engineering software tools /li /ul ul li Strong communication and influencing skills /li li Curious mindset and desire to learn /li li Organised and able to manage tasks /li li Material testing techniques /li li CAD and other engineering software tools /li li Understanding of materials in automotive applications (metallics, polymers) /li /ul
