b Overview /b p In this role you lead the Body Structures group to deliver all structural components and systems across programs, aligning with McLaren’s development process. You’ll drive performance, quality and cost targets while steering technical strategy and resource planning. You collaborate across the Body Engineering Leadership Team and external partners to ensure on-time, right-first-time design and robust IP management. This is a chance to shape the future of high-performance vehicles at McLaren. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li 25 days’ holiday + bank holidays /li li Enhanced company pension scheme /li li Discretionary annual bonus /li li Private medical insurance /li li Life assurance /li li Sabbatical after two years /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Lead and develop the Body Structures team to meet performance, quality, BOM, cost, and timing targets /li li Drive design integrity and engineering standards to exceed life and quality goals /li li Manage project timing across digital and physical stages; ensure right-first-time design /li li Define and update technical strategies and roadmaps; secure internal/external resources /li li Lead assessment and integration of new technologies; monitor IP opportunities (patents/copyright) /li li Oversee resource allocation, recruitment, performance management, and development plans /li li Prepare and present materials for internal/external reviews and stakeholders /li li Ensure design releases align with ETRS and McLaren Development Process (MDP) milestones /li li Manage risks to delivery, cost, quality, and brand image; minimize warranty exposure /li li Lead testing, validation, and support for vehicle development, manufacturing, and launch activities /li li Foster a healthy, safe, and inclusive working environment; promote leadership across the team /li li Maintain quality across teams: leadership development, capability growth, succession planning /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Engineering Degree (2:1 minimum) or equivalent /li li Minimum 3 years of managerial experience in OEM or Tier 1 with full product lifecycle and resource planning /li li Experience in component/system design within APQP or similar framework (FMEA, DVP, PPAP) /li li Strong technical knowledge of Body Structural components and systems, including testing and manufacturing /li li Ability to manage BOM, costs, and timing; experience with design releases and DVP/DFM /li /ul ul li leadership and people development /li li strategic planning /li li cross-functional collaboration /li li Body Structures design and integration /li li APQP, FMEA, DVP, PPAP /li li BOM management and cost/timing control /li /ul
