Purpose of the role: To design, develop and continuously improve the F1 car’s electrical systems, ensuring optimum performance, reliability and regulatory compliance. This role will play a key part in delivering robust, efficient and lightweight electrical architectures that support the team’s competitive objectives, while driving innovation and best practice across design processes and tools.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the design and architecture of on-car electrical systems, including power distribution, communications and system topology.
- Capture and translate cross-functional requirements into robust electrical specifications.
- Drive reliability through design, ensuring resilience and mitigation of single points of failure.
- Own end-to-end delivery from concept through to release, manufacturing and trackside support.
- Collaborate closely with Mechanical, Software, R&D and Production teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Drive continuous improvement in tools, processes and PLM systems across the electrical function.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance across projects, influencing key engineering decisions.
What You’ll Bring:
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
- Strong experience in complex electrical systems design, ideally in high-performance or motorsport environments.
- Deep understanding of electrical architecture, wiring systems, communications protocols and control systems.
- Experience managing full product lifecycle from concept to delivery.
- Strong problem-solving capability with a focus on reliability and performance optimisation.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and operate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of FIA regulations (or similar regulated environments) is advantageous.
