Purpose of the Role: A senior role within our inspection department, helping drive performance & reliability on track throughout the season and playing a leading role in continuous improvement and production delivery.
Principal Accountabilities:
- The measurement of all required features of final race car components, sub-components and tooling, prior to release to build.
- The validation of the structural integrity of all required car-components requiring non-destructive testing, as per design requirements.
- Drive forward department best practices and processes to be world class in all areas.
- Accountable for on time delivery of the department, ensuring production targets are delivered upon.
- Accountable for the quality output of the department, by development of personnel to ensure the highest standards of inspection and non-destructive testing can be achieved and maintained.
- Working with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure that equipment and processes are maintained and remain at the forefront of technology and efficiency.
- Allocating resources effectively across both manufacturing sites and race-team to support servicing and production demands.
- Accountable for the delivery of effective and regular feedback, 1-2-1’s and goal-setting to support the development of department personnel in line with the wider team objectives.
Job requirements Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- A fully indentured engineering background in precision engineering or similar industry.
- Experience using PCDIMIS, Dassault Systems, VX Elements, GOM Inspect and Polyworks would be advantageous.
- Experience and formal training in ultrasonic, eddy-current, magnetic particle and penetrant flaw detection.
- Vast knowledge of GD&T and best practices is required.
- Experience of working in a high-speed and high-pressured manufacturing environment, working to aggressive deadlines and targets.
- Experience of training, developing and mentoring others.
- Experience of continuous improvement, including root-cause analysis and implementation of effective corrective actions.
- Ability to communicate to all levels, including senior key stakeholders.
- Exemplary attention to detail is a must.
- Working knowledge of best-in-class NDT inspection processes and practices.
