Purpose of the Role
As a Customs and Freight Compliance Coordinator, you will provide first‑line support to the Race Logistics, Transport and TPC teams, managing the preparation and completion of all customs documentation. This includes ATA Carnets, freight invoicing, and ensuring full compliance with CAA, customs and IATA regulations. You’ll play a vital role in keeping our global freight operation running smoothly and accurately across all racing and testing events.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and process ATA Carnet paperwork for temporary export/import of car parts and equipment.
- Write accurate freight invoices by liaising with Race Team, Project Management and Logistics.
- Provide commercial and proforma invoices and ensure compliance for all internal and external shipments.
- Ensure the trackside team has complete and accurate documentation to meet tight shipping deadlines.
- Identify and coordinate dangerous goods shipments, ensuring compliance with IATA regulations.
- Support hand‑carry shipments and ensure correct declarations for goods travelling via commercial flights.
- Support temporary export of components under Outward Processing Relief where required.
- Collaborate with Transport and Logistics teams to ensure adherence to UK/EU legislation.
- Assist wider logistics functions with part coordination, freight packing, unpacking and kitting when needed.
Job requirements
What You’ll Bring
- Strong experience working with customs documentation, LCCI and HMRC processes across Europe and worldwide.
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Experience within motorsport—particularly Formula 1—is a strong advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Competence with Microsoft Office and ideally stock control systems.
- Understanding of global import/export legislation relating to the F1 calendar.
