What to Expect
Initially, work in conjunction with the Launch team to ensure the smooth launch into production of new Ultimate series models and derivatives, meeting quality, cost, and volume targets. Carry out production builds of Ultimate series vehicles to achieve volume goals. Perform other tasks as required by business needs.
What You\’ll Do
The Ultimate Series Technician will be expected to:
- Understand and follow detailed work instructions related to vehicle construction, painting, or assembly.
- Ensure all station operations on each vehicle meet quality standards and are completed within the required timescales.
- Work collaboratively on problem-solving to address issues affecting quality, cost, or productivity.
- Attend work regularly and punctually, notifying the Team Leader of any lateness or absences.
- Keep the work area clean, tidy, and organized according to brand standards.
- Maintain a safe working environment and participate in safety activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the development and launch of future McLaren vehicle platforms and variants.
- Assist in developing vehicle assembly processes and bespoke tooling requirements.
- Identify and document build concerns, perform root cause analysis.
- Support prototype vehicle assembly during development phases.
- Assist in launching vehicles into series production.
- Train new technicians to ensure smooth transition into manufacturing.
- Adhere to McLaren brand values.
- Provide production support during peak periods or absences as needed.
