The Total Reward Specialist supports the ongoing development, governance and maintenance of the organisation’s job architecture, job evaluation and market pricing framework. The role helps ensure consistent job levelling, accurate role profiling, credible benchmarking and fair, market aligned reward decisions across functions and regions. Operating as a knowledgeable practitioner within the People Operations team, the Specialist contributes to job evaluation activity, pay range design and market analysis. The role supports the People function and business stakeholders through clear guidance, well governed processes and strong analytical capability. The Specialist also assists with broader total reward activities as required, drawing on a solid understanding of compensation and benefits programmes.
What You’ll Do
- Job Architecture Support
- Contribute to the maintenance of the organisation’s global job architecture, ensuring job families, levels and career pathways remain accurate and up to date.
- Maintain the job catalogue by coordinating updates to role profiles and ensuring alignment with governance standards.
- Support the application of job architecture methodologies across business areas.
- Job Evaluation & Role Profiling
- Conduct job evaluation reviews using the agreed methodology.
- Assist in the creation and refinement of role profiles, ensuring consistent structure and quality.
- Provide guidance to People Business Partners and managers on job levelling processes and documentation requirements.
- Market Pricing & Benchmarking
- Perform market pricing analyses using approved survey data and tools.
- Support benchmarking cycles, including data preparation, job matching and market comparisons.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of job family pay ranges based on market data and internal alignment.
- Monitor external market developments and share relevant insights with the People team.
- Reward Governance & Stakeholder Support
- Help maintain governance processes to ensure consistent application of job architecture and reward frameworks.
- Provide support and training materials to colleagues and line managers on job evaluation, market pricing and reward processes.
- Support the management of controls and documentation to maintain quality and compliance.
- Analytics, Insights & Continuous Improvement
- Produce accurate data analysis and insights to support reward decisions and pay equity reviews.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and support continuous enhancement of tools, templates and methodologies.
- Broader Total Reward Support
- Assist with compensation and benefits projects (e.g., pay review, policy updates, benchmarking cycles, benefits evaluations) as required.
- Support global reward initiatives as required by the Senior Total Reward Manager.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in compensation, reward or HR analytics, ideally within a global or multimarket environment.
- Working knowledge of job evaluation methodologies, job levelling or job architecture concepts.
- Experience with market benchmarking and the use of compensation surveys.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data clearly.
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and commitment to process discipline.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and business stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Excel and HR systems.
- Experience maintaining or applying global job architectures or job family frameworks.
- Familiarity with common job evaluation methodologies (e.g., Korn Ferry, Mercer, WTW, Radford).
