The Senior Packaging Engineer will support the optimisation of packaging and warehouse processes, focusing on continuous improvement and operational efficiency within the supply chain. Reporting to the Packaging & Warehouse Continuous Improvement Manager, this role is responsible for implementing process improvements, supporting packaging standards, and working with cross‑functional teams to drive improvements in line with lean manufacturing principles.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in analysing packaging and warehouse processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement, with a focus on 'One touch logistics.'
- Support the development and implementation of material flow optimisation from 3PL to lineside, minimising lineside space utilisation.
- Help define, implement, and manage packaging standards to improve component handling and transportation efficiency.
- Maintain and update the 'Plan for every part' (PFEP) database, ensuring it aligns with cross‑functional business needs.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline warehouse and packaging operations.
- Apply lean manufacturing tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen) to support process improvement initiatives.
- Support the management of returnable container systems to enhance visibility of company‑owned packaging within the supply chain.
- Assist in optimising 3PL space and resource utilisation.
- Assist the manager in leading continuous improvement projects, ensuring on‑time and on‑budget delivery.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including production, quality, supply chain, and engineering to ensure alignment and successful execution of projects.
- Support logistics and packaging‑related deliverables for new vehicle launches.
- Collect and analyse operational data to identify trends and root causes of inefficiencies, contributing to improvement initiatives.
- Use data‑driven insights to recommend and implement enhancements to packaging and warehouse processes.
- Assist in training warehouse and packaging teams on continuous improvement methodologies and lean principles.
- Foster a culture of proactive problem‑solving and continuous improvement among the team.
- Ensure packaging and warehouse processes align with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Design capability for packaging materials.
- Help implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of product integrity and customer satisfaction.
- Support the management of resources such as personnel, equipment, and materials to improve operational efficiency.
- Work with suppliers and vendors to identify packaging improvements that reduce costs and environmental impact.

What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in packaging, warehouse operations, or process improvement, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Experience in applying lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma certification is a plus).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and working with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in cross‑functional teams.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
