Reporting to the Senior Material Planner & Control, this supplier facing role is key in ensuring materials arrive from McLaren's supply base on time and in full, with supporting documentation. The role involves creating and maintaining realistic delivery schedules to support our series and development programmes while keeping inventory levels within budgeted targets. It also focuses on developing supplier relationships and logistics capabilities to meet growing challenges.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for all aspects of supplier logistics quality, ensuring efficient inbound flow of material to the McLaren Production Centre.
- Manage processes with suppliers to identify, communicate and mitigate supply risk.
- Represent supply chain risks and opportunities at internal management reviews.
- Use MRP (SAP) to balance demand and supply, creating a delivery plan that satisfies production, development, and other requirements while keeping inventory within approved limits.
- Reduce obsolescence and inventory holding to company targets.
- Act as point of contact for assigned suppliers and related material availability concerns.
- Work with supplier contacts to maintain effective, mutually beneficial relationships.
- Onboard suppliers, including supply chain loop and packaging requirement calculations.
- Pursue continuous improvement for internal processes and supplier logistics quality.
- Manage supply base against defined KPIs to support business improvement.
- Support engineering in implementing new parts, ensuring accurate MRP demand and coordinating stock ramp‑ups to minimise financial impact.
- Conduct scenario modelling to assess impact of demand/supply changes and implement optimal plans.
- Own and manage MRP parameter data to deliver correct inventory levels and stability.
- Manage schedules against KPIs measuring all factors affecting materials and production planning.

- Understanding of automotive OEM supply chains and supplier manufacturing processes.
- Highly developed relationship building skills.

- Experience with MRP and/or SAP desirable.
