We are recruiting for a Graduate to join McLaren Automotive’s Legal and Corporate Affairs team. As a Legal and Corporate Affairs graduate, you will gain practical experience across key areas and support initiatives which will help shape the future of McLaren.
This is a two-year rotational programme (4 x 6-month placements) designed to accelerate your development and understanding of Legal and Corporate Affairs within McLaren. You will work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to meaningful projects.
Please note this is an onsite position.
What You\’ll Do
During your Graduate Scheme, you will work within core areas of Legal and Corporate Affairs, including strategic communication, public affairs, sustainability, risk management, governance and compliance. This role emphasises a focus on External Communications and Corporate Affairs.
Your responsibilities may include:
External Communications:
- Develop and implement external communication strategies to support McLaren’s brand, vision, and objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media representatives and journalists.
Corporate Affairs and Legal:
- Act as a liaison with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and other external stakeholders.
- Assist in managing McLaren’s reputation through proactive stakeholder engagement and issue management.
- Support governance and compliance from within.
- Coordinate corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability initiatives aligned with the company’s values.
Project Work:
- Be involved in live business projects such as CSR initiatives, Communication and Public Affairs strategy.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting the automotive sector, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and identify process enhancements.
What You\’ll Bring
- Currently studying for a degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Public Relations, Business, or a related field
- Achieved, or on track for at least a 2:1 or above
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
- High levels of discretion and professionalism when dealing with sensitive information
- Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic environment and learning from experienced professionals
- Some experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); any exposure to HR systems is a plus
You must also bring a passion for cars, and a desire to work at the cutting edge of the automotive industry within our Legal business area
