As a Data Analyst, you will engage with multiple stakeholders across the business to manage raw data and generate critical reports to highlight the performance of key quality metrics for multiple functions. The reports generated will have a direct impact on the quality performance of our future products and will provide a clear status to enable the business to make informed decisions regarding project delivery. This role is crucial to ensure a common approach to data management across all projects and transparent reporting of quality metrics at vehicle launch.

What You'll Do

  • Creation and management of internal and external quality reports and dashboards to ensure transparency of key business quality metrics (as set by the Programme Quality team). This will involve an in-depth usage of Microsoft Power BI alongside Atlassian’s Jira.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging analytics platforms, data science tools and AI technologies to enhance quality capabilities & data management.
  • Develop and support quality reporting processes to ensure both product development requirements are achieved (e.g. concern management system).
  • Prepare, manipulate and analyse large datasets to deliver relevant customer insights to both internal and external stakeholders, driving continuous improvement in wider business processes (i.e. data analytics).
  • Lead troubleshooting activities and provide technical assistance to employees to cultivate a “self-service” data culture.
  • Own and deliver all continuous improvement activities related to Technical & Programme Quality reports and wider business quality metrics, working closely with other teams to steer and drive their implementation.
  • Management of Programme & Technical Quality SharePoint site and access rights to all user/user roles for related quality reports.
  • Support IT initiatives for data integrity and normalisation.
  • Work closely with the McLaren IT team to help co-ordinate data projects relating to emerging data technologies (e.g. Artificial Intelligence) and assist in the continuous improvement of external production and business processes, (e.g. metrics related to quality, safety, cost and productivity).
  • Ensure analytics solutions are scalable, maintainable and aligned with McLaren's IT architecture and cyber security policies.

What You'll Bring

  • Business Knowledge
  • Knowledge of SAP Business Objects, Azure Cloud and generic IT infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of Atlassian’s Jira platform.
  • Understanding and experience in a process driven environment.
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry/vehicles desirable but not essential.
  • Essential Functional / Technical Skills
  • Advanced level of knowledge for Microsoft Office packages – Excel / Power BI / Power Query.
  • Proficiency with development and deployment of self-service Business Intelligence tools e.g. Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, Tableau.
  • Knowledge of logical and physical data modelling concepts, as well as a generic knowledge of “best practise” data strategy concepts for a corporate organisation.
  • An ability to deliver and communicate innovative visualisations/reports and dashboards to key stakeholders in a complex organisation.
  • Personal Attributes / Competencies
  • We work in a fast-paced environment so the ability to act under pressure with calmness, clarity of thought, and decisive authority is crucial.
  • Pro-active, passionate, confident and ambitious individual who is also a team player.
  • Methodical approach and highly analytical, with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent attention to detail and a strong organisational skillset to help prioritise and risk assess work.
  • Enthusiastic about continuous learning, new technologies and staying at the forefront of analytics and AI innovation.
  • Other traits of a successful McLaren employee will include excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

What We'll Do for You

  • Structured career development framework.
  • 25 days’ holiday, plus bank holiday. Annual buy & sell up to five days.
