Essential Functions/Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to, and enforcing, all safety procedures and policies inside and outside the facility, including use of personal protective equipment and McLanahan equipment as required.
  • Represent McLanahan Corporation in a positive manner both internally and externally while adhering to the organisation's core values.
  • Assembling Plant and Sub-Assemblies.
  • Disassemble plant and load it securely for transport.
  • Using overhead cranes safely to assemble plant and sub-assemblies.
  • Reading and understanding engineering and technical drawings.
  • Quality checking the plant and reporting and correcting any defects before dispatch.
  • Complete all tasks within the required timeframe.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, management, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Identify and work on continuous improvements within your work area.
  • General good housekeeping in all areas.

Physical Requirements:

This position is typically located in a factory setting and requires standing for extended periods of time. The position requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, visual acuity to use standard hand tools, and operate standard office equipment. It requires the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of both verbal and written communication. The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Educational/Other Requirements:

  • Educated to GCSE level; Grade C or above (or equivalent) in Math and English.
  • Two years of experience in mechanical assembly.
  • Valid Forklift license, slinger signaler and overhead gantry crane certifications desirable.
  • Skilled at using manual hand tools & battery powered hand tools.
  • Computer literacy including MS Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
