We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fire & Security Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing, and commissioning of fire alarm and security systems across commercial, industrial, and residential sites. You will ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards and complies with relevant regulations and codes of practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and commission fire alarm systems (addressable and conventional), intruder alarms systems, access control, CCTV and barrier systems to industry standards.
- Conduct fault finding and diagnostics on fire detection systems.
- Perform routine servicing and testing in accordance with relevant standards and in compliance with relevant manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, service visits, and repairs, completing job sheets and updating CRM systems.
- Liaise with clients and site personnel to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Participate in on-call rota and respond to emergency call-outs when required.
- Integrate systems with existing infrastructure and upgrade outdated equipment.
- Provide technical advice on system enhancements and improvements and provide user training where required.
Person Specification:
- Proven experience as a Fire & Security Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm & security systems including addressable systems (e.g., Gent, Advanced, Kentec, Morley, Pyronix, Texecom, Paxton, Hikvision).
- Understanding of BS5839, PD6662 and other relevant standards.
- Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Desirable Criteria:
- FIA or equivalent fire alarm training certification.
- Relevant electrical or electronic engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds).
- Additional security systems certifications preferred.
- Experience with emergency lighting systems.
