Who are we? At mcl, we help small and medium-sized businesses access the capital they need to grow – quickly, clearly, and with care. Since 2018, we’ve supported over 2,000 SMEs across the UK, and we’re not slowing down. We believe finance should work better for the people building our economy. That means fewer hurdles, faster answers, and support that feels human, not transactional. We back ambition with real funding, smart tools, and a team that gets what running a business really takes. Our model puts people over paperwork. We work with brokers and with business owners to deliver funding that fits – without the faff. As we grow, we’re expanding our reach, recently launching mcl in Dubai and tools like LendPair, helping even more businesses find the right path to finance.

Our mission is to reshape SME finance and level the playing field – funding that’s fast, fair, and fits for the businesses of the future.

Our G.E.M.S values:

  • Growth: Not just business growth – personal growth, team growth, process growth. We level up.
  • Enthusiasm: No fake hype. Just energy, urgency, and actually giving a toss.
  • Maintaining Accountability: Own your actions and interactions. If it’s off, say it. If it’s broken, fix it.
  • Seeing Strategically: Eyes on the big picture. Help us make smarter long-term moves.

THE ROLE: We’re looking for a detail-oriented, reliable, and commercially aware Account Manager to join our growing team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring each deal moves seamlessly from approval to completion - managing contracts, verifying compliance checks, and keeping our internal systems fully up to date. This role suits someone who enjoys structure, precision, and ownership of process. You’ll liaise with brokers, clients, and internal teams to make sure every funding step - from KYC/AML to documentation and system entry - is handled efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and send contracts and supporting documents to clients for signature.
  • Maintain accurate records and document storage in line with internal policies.
  • Update and manage data within our Loan Management System (LMS) and CRM to ensure all deal stages are accurately reflected.
  • Liaise with clients and internal teams to gather outstanding documents and resolve any pre-funding issues.
  • Track the progress of deals through the funding pipeline and communicate updates promptly to the Partnerships team.
  • Identify and escalate discrepancies, risks, or concerns.
  • Support post-funding processes such as document archiving and system reconciliations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Highly organised and process-driven, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Clear communicator who can manage multiple stakeholders confidently.
  • Familiarity with KYC/AML procedures.
  • Experience working with financial documentation and digital contract systems.
  • Proactive, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bonus: Background in a broker or lender environment.

Our Offer:

  • A fast, focused environment where your impact is immediate.
  • Ownership over your work and a voice in how we improve.
  • Opportunities to grow with a company that’s scaling quickly.
  • A team that values clarity, pace, and practical thinking.
  • Competitive salary and path for progression.
  • A chance to contribute to a mission driven company.
