About the Role
On behalf of our client, McKinty Associates are seeking to recruit an experienced Payroll Specialist. Working as part of our client's established Accounts team, the post holder will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes across all sites, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with payroll legislation, tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Processing end-to-end weekly and monthly payrolls across the UK and USA
- Managing all payroll administration, including new starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses, overtime, statutory payments and deductions
- Completing payroll reconciliations and ensuring payroll records are maintained accurately and securely
- Administering workplace pensions, including employee enrolment, contributions, opt-ins, opt-outs and compliance with UK auto-enrolment legislation
- Ensuring compliance with HMRC legislation and relevant US payroll regulations
- Monitoring changes to payroll legislation, taxation, pensions and employment regulations across the UK and USA and implementing necessary updates
- Preparing internal financial payroll reports
- Completing year-end activities, including distribution of P60s
- Supporting internal and external payroll audits
- Liaising with HMRC, pension providers, payroll software providers, tax authorities and external advisors as required
- Undertaking any other duties as required by the Group Financial Controller to meet business needs
Eligibility Criteria
- Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing with full standalone responsibility
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments and pensions
- Knowledge of year-end payroll processes, including P60 and P11D administration
- Highly proficient in Sage Payroll software
- Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word
- Previous experience dealing directly with US-based payroll cycles is desirable
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines and workload effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent time management skills
