Our exclusive and long-standing client is expanding rapidly having had significant investment locally. They are a multisite growing business with a strong leadership team and exciting ambition. Based in Belfast, this role would be onsite predominantly; however, there is real flexibility on start and finish times, and they would also consider a 4-day working week/30 hours per week with flexibility.
Summary of the role
- Act as a proactive finance manager offering operational support to the Group FC and wider business.
- Deliver the month-end close for a group of entities ensuring timelines are met and outputs are accurate and consistent.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including: P&L with clear commentary on administrative variances, anomalies and key movements.
- Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring integrity, completeness and timely resolution of reconciling items.
- Review of transactional accuracy across ledgers, including journals, accruals, prepayments and intercompany postings.
- Proactively support the Group FC in driving continuous improvement in month-end processes, reconciliations, and general finance administration.
- Support the Group FC with oversight of day-to-day finance operations, including supervision of Accounts Payable and Accounts Assistant functions.
- Support system improvements and implementations, particularly around finance processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
- Support audit processes, acting as a point of preparation for schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Manage cashflow visibility, including short-term forecasting, liquidity monitoring, and escalation of risks or pressures.
- Review and maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate capitalisation, depreciation, and disposals.
Ideal Person
- Experience of preparing full month-end accounts and able to check for accuracy before final review.
- Inquisitive and thrives in improving and enhancing procedures.
- Advanced Excel skills to analyse data, build reconciliations, and support reporting and modelling.
Qualifications
- A full accountancy qualification would be great; however, if you have strong technical expertise preparing full accounts and are not a member of a professional accounting body, this will be considered also.
