McKinty Associates are pleased to be working with a Belfast based telecoms service provider who have a requirement for an experienced Assistant Accountant / Accounts Technician to join their team. This will be a varied role assisting with the day-to-day finance activities and reporting directly into the Financial Controller.
Main duties will include:
- Purchase invoices / supplier payments
- Support sales ledger activities, including raising invoices and credit control
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to resolve account queries
- Bank reconciliations
- Staff expenses
- Assist in month-end and year-end procedures, including journal entries and accruals
- Help prepare VAT returns
- Financial reporting as required
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team and management
Eligibility criteria:
- Professional accountancy qualification β Qualified Accounts Technician / Part Qualified Accountant
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes
- Previous experience in a similar role (3 years or more)
- Experience in accounts packages (Sage 200 desirable)
- Excellent Excel skills (vlookups, sumif, pivot tables etc)
- Experience of working on own initiative and as part of a small team
- High level of organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude
- Excellent communicator and able to build relationships and rapport
