We are pleased to be working exclusively with a very long standing commercial client who are actively looking to expand their finance team. This is a key role in the business working closely with the Group FC who in turn reports up to a NI based group. The business has 5 entities currently.

Key requirements and responsibilities include:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or Qualified by Experience
  • Commercially minded Accountant who wants to see beyond the numbers and add value
  • You will bridge the gap between day-to-day transactional accounting and high-level strategic reporting at group level.
  • Financial Reporting: Lead the end-to-end month-end close process including accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations. Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts together with insightful variance analysis.
  • Cost Management: Ability to prepare detailed analysis of COGS (Cost of Goods Sold), inventory & operating expenses. Monitor daily cash flow and assist the Financial Controller with weekly and rolling budgets & forecasts. Assist with year-end and audit processes.

The ideal person:

  • Strong commercial/industry experience
  • Experience in a management accounting or finance analyst role within an industrial setting
  • Solid understanding of UK Tax and HMRC requirements for Payroll etc.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivots, VLOOKUPs) and experience with ERP systems; current system is Sage 50 and Power BI although this could change up to group IT system.
  • Strong communication and the ability to communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • A high degree of precision to ensure accuracy in reporting.
  • Encourages ways to improve processes rather than waiting for instruction.
  • Able to plan and to manage multiple tasks with clarity and accuracy.
