As a People Analytics and Measurement Data Analytics Specialist, you will work directly with the Alumni Relations Team to support its strategy and mission, and drive its analytical agenda to deliver meaningful innovation and impact in analytics. You will proactively leverage existing data and help develop the foundation for the future data infrastructure by identifying new data sources that will provide insights on the firm’s program and services, which supports 55,000 alumni worldwide.
You will develop digital products that support ROI and KPI measurement, develop fluency in extracting, cleaning, and analyzing demographic, engagement, and psychographic alumni data from multiple sources to provide insights, models, and real-time visualizations that measure ROI and KPIs related to program effectiveness. You will also create algorithms to support alumni engagement measures and indicators that reflect individual alums’ relationships with our firm more broadly, and predictive analytics to aid in strategic decision-making.
You will communicate the results of the analyses, helping the team understand the findings and identifying new opportunities to leverage and enhance analytic capabilities. You will have the opportunity to gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm through direct mentorship, training, and coaching provided by other People Analytics and Measurement data analysts, data scientists, and data engineers.
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's or master’s degree in data analytics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, social science research, operations research, econometrics, or similar field
- Success as an individual contributor within a broader team
- Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple projects, and to work effectively under pressure and with shifting priorities
- Ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative findings into actionable insights and communicate them effectively
- Technical and analytical experience, including analytical tools and software such as R (preferred), Python, Tableau, Alteryx, Knime, or other programming experience
- Exploratory data analysis, including web analytics platforms, to understand the characteristics of a data set and identify patterns
- Comfort in dealing with ambiguity, making assumptions, and drawing conclusions
- Familiarity with software development methodologies like Agile, including issue/workflow tracking tools like Jira and Trello, and version control tools like git and GitHub
- 4+ years of professional experience in applied analytics or research
- Solid analytical and data management skills
- Flexibility in working style, willingness to collaborate with a team virtually, and ability to work independently based on project and other circumstances
- Understanding of digital product lifecycle
- Proficiency in SQL, including experience retrieving data from relational databases
- Intuitive understanding of what the analysis implies and how it would be affected by changes in assumptions
- Experience with visualizing data using ggplot2, matplotlib, d3.js, Tableau, or similar software
