WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • You will review and advise our consulting and asset teams on technology products that we build as a service to our firm and clients.
  • You will draft, review and negotiate complex contracts relating to software, artificial intelligence, data analytics, cyber security, and data usage. Negotiations will entail frequent interaction with McKinsey clients and consultants.
  • You will monitor regulatory proposals and changes, developing strategies for implementing regulatory requirements, and educating our teams outside of legal on regulatory developments in their space.
  • You will counsel consultants on a variety of other legal issues and work with them as they proceed through the firm’s risk and economic committee approval processes.
  • You will take an active role in internal knowledge and learning, e.g., developing precedent documents and rolling-out training for firm leadership, the wider McKinsey Legal Department and other firm functions.
  • You will also identify best practices to address legal and professional issues impacting the firm’s business, including counseling consultants on the application of McKinsey’s internal policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years’ experience advising on at least several of the matters referenced above.
  • Team player who is highly collaborative, collegiate and flexible with a willingness to take on new, unexpected and challenging assignments.
  • Excellent communicator: conveys information clearly in written and verbal form; can translate large amounts of complex information into a digestible format capable of understanding by busy, non-legal professionals.
  • Comfort in a highly challenging, fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Commercial awareness: ability to identify the most salient pressure points in complex and varied technological scenarios.
  • Accomplished project manager with the ability to readily switch between pragmatism and in-depth analysis.
