Your Impact

As a Product Manager II, you will lead complex, high‐impact product initiatives, driving innovation and aligning teams to deliver meaningful client and business outcomes. Collaborating with cross‐functional experts, you will shape product strategy, manage roadmaps, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and leadership development.

You will be working in our London office in our Life Sciences practice. As a member of McKinsey's global Scientific AI team, you will help revolutionize how clients approach research and development in innovation‐driven sectors such as Life Sciences, Specialty Chemicals, Global Energy & Materials, Agriculture, Advanced Industries, and Sustainability.

You will define product vision, prioritize roadmaps and guide cross‐functional teams to deliver results. Collaborating with technical experts as well as scientific translators, you will oversee the product lifecycle. You will manage budgets, coordinate capacity, ensure alignment with strategic goals and coach teams to achieve value‐driven outcomes.

Your work will deliver industry‐leading assets that transform client problem‐solving. Leveraging your product management expertise, you will design and launch impactful products and platforms, collaborating with McKinsey's global network of experts to achieve business goals.

You will lead the development of innovative solutions that address complex challenges and deliver measurable impact. Working with a team that fosters innovation through analytics and design thinking, you will drive high‐impact initiatives that enhance client engagement and improve the professional experience of firm members.

There is a flexibility to hire at Product Manager II or Principal Product Manager level, depending on your experience.

Your qualifications and skills:

  • 5+ years of experience building products with a strong product management toolkit across all aspects of product development lifecycle, leading cross‐functional teams in agile set‐up.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and align with cross‐functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with risks associated with handling sensitive data is preferred.
  • Proven track‐record in successfully building products, driving and scaling impact with AI and/or Generative AI space, contributing from strategy to delivery is preferred.
  • Comfortable working in fast‐paced environments and navigating complex, rapidly changing AI landscapes with a strong execution and entrepreneurial mindset. Prior consulting experience is valued.
  • Prior experience in building products for scientific applications is preferred.
  • Exceptional people leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills with a strong team player mindset working side by side with peers to deliver strategic bigger objectives.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‐solving & structuring skills with the ability to translate technical concepts, user analytics and user pain points into product requirements. A technical understanding of AI and ML products is preferred.
  • Some flexibility in working hours is required to accommodate different time zones.
