We are looking for two experienced HR professionals to join our specialist investigations team and help deliver high-quality workplace investigations for organisations across Scotland and the UK.

Based near Edinburgh, we are a small, dynamic and welcoming team with an excellent reputation for “doing the right thing” and a strong base of returning clients. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys employee relations work and is looking to specialise in complex and meaningful workplace investigations.
About the Role
As a Workplace Investigator, you will manage a varied caseload of sensitive employee relations matters across both public and private sector organisations. You will work independently while being supported by an experienced and collaborative team. The role is primarily home-based, with some travel to our Livingston office or client sites across Scotland as required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing complex workplace investigations, including discrimination, bullying & harassment, misconduct and other employee relations matters
- Conducting interviews, gathering evidence and analysing findings objectively
- Producing high-quality investigation reports with clear conclusions and recommendations
- Maintaining confidentiality, professionalism and neutrality throughout each case
- Working in line with employment law, GDPR requirements and client procedures
- Supporting quality assurance by reviewing investigations completed by others
- Collaborating with the wider McKinney HR team on related projects as required
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or above)
- Strong HR and employee relations experience
- Direct experience conducting workplace investigations
- Excellent analytical and report-writing skills
- The ability to manage multiple complex cases effectively
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A calm, professional and solutions-focused approach
