Location: Central London. One of our clients, a financial services firm, are looking for an ambitious paralegal to join their London team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a paralegal to go in-house and move beyond traditional law firm work and build a career in special situations, restructuring, and insolvency. The firm offers early responsibility, direct exposure to distressed and complex matters, and a legal / commercial role.
Responsibilities
- Case Support
- Assisting with the day‐to‐day administration of advisory mandates and corporate insolvency cases, including administrations, and liquidations.
- Prepare and file statutory notices, reports, and correspondence under supervision.
- Maintain accurate case files, checklists, and records in line with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Support the preparation of creditor reports, decision procedure documentation, and progress updates.
- Investigations & Asset Realisation
- Assist with initial fact‐finding, gathering books and records, and reviewing financial information.
- Support investigations into director conduct, antecedent transactions, and asset tracing.
- Help with the realisation of assets, liaising with agents, valuers, and solicitors as required.
- Stakeholder Interaction
- Communicate with creditors, directors, employees, and other stakeholders, providing updates and responding to routine queries.
- Support senior team in preparing for meetings, interviews, and calls.
- Team Support & Development
- Work closely with the senior team, supporting them on complex tasks and learning from their experience.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment and demonstrate a willingness to take on new responsibilities as skills develop.
The successful paralegal will gain hands-on involvement in live cases, stakeholder interaction, and experience across contentious and non-contentious restructuring, investigations, asset recovery, and formal insolvency. The firm is looking for motivated candidates, ideally with insolvency experience, who want a more dynamic, commercially exposed career outside of a law firm.
Ideally, you will have circa 12 months' experience as a paralegal in either insolvency, litigation or general commercial work. In addition, excellent problem-solving skills and a confident communicator are also essential.
