Litigation & Arbitration Paralegal

Job Title: Construction Paralegal / Commercial Litigation and International Arbitration Paralegal

Location: Central London

Salary: to £50,000 depending on experience

Leading London law firm is looking for an experienced commercial litigation or international arbitration paralegal to join their well-established construction team and assist partners and consultants with their matters as required.

A selection of duties will include:

1. Assisting with the drafting of construction and engineering documents including letters of intent, contracts, consultancy appointments, warranties, and security documents, as well as documents for contentious matters including instructions to Counsel, pleadings, submissions, Court forms, and settlement agreements under supervision.
2. Preparation, filing, and service of statements of case, court bundles, and other submissions and documents in adjudication, litigation, arbitration, and other proceedings.
3. Carrying out basic legal research and preparing short research notes.
4. Undertaking initial reviews and organisation of documentation received in respect of contentious or non-contentious matters.
5. Ensuring the proper management of documents including organising and managing electronic data sites, uploading documentation, and making sure that documents are properly bundled, indexed, and stored as appropriate.
6. Checking and proof-reading legal documents for quality, consistency, and content.
7. Assisting with the administration of matters (including preparing client care letters, time recording, billing, and the engagement of third parties such as Counsel and expert witnesses).
8. Recording chargeable time punctually and accurately.

It is essential that you have excellent experience (minimum 12 months) in either construction, corporate, arbitration, or commercial litigation, a very strong academic background, and a positive and enthusiastic approach to work.
