The Senior Account Manager is a crucial role in ClarusONE to ensure alignment between the buy‑side and sell‑side, acting as the main point of contact for the Member and managing the interface between the Member and ClarusONE. The role involves managing all Member matters, anticipating Member needs, sharing relevant information across ClarusONE, ensuring deadlines are met, and maximising value for the Member. The position requires developing a deep understanding of the Member’s strategic needs, reviewing market and industry dynamics, and working cross‑functionally within ClarusONE and with the Member.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a solid, trusting relationship between Walmart and ClarusONE.
- Understand the Member needs for the Walmart pharmacy business to ensure ClarusONE meets those goals.
- Operate within the agreed account management framework, oversee Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and manage the annual Member strategic joint planning process.
- Engage in frequent strategic planning meetings to align buy‑side and sell‑side strategies, increase Member profitability, and facilitate solution development.
- Coordinate activities to exceed growth targets, align portfolio segmentation, and ensure each key molecule maximises performance.
- Evaluate performance of Member initiatives, propose corrective actions, and identify learnings.
- Develop internal processes to proactively identify and address Member issues.
- Ensure relevant Member information is cascaded to ClarusONE internal teams.
- Plan and present periodic reports covering Member progress, goals, and initiatives.
- Support resolution of Member operational issues and align sourcing activities with ClarusONE.
- Monitor and report on financial and commercial performance, including savings delivery and value realisation.
- Lead and develop the Account Associate, setting SMART objectives and supporting professional growth.
- Act as deputy to the Senior Director, Member Engagement when required and contribute positively to team culture.
- Define and track meaningful KPIs covering Member engagement, initiative progress, and savings performance.
- Develop deep understanding of the generic pharmaceutical industry, market dynamics, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments.
- Own pipeline visibility and launch readiness activities, including Day1 and Day181 launch coordination via the ClarusONE Member Portal.
Requirements
- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Economics, Business or similar); preference for Masters in Business Administration.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in account management, sales, sourcing, business development or product management; pharmaceutical experience preferable.
- Key skills:
- Key account management and business development.
- Strong data literacy – proficiency in MS Excel and/or Access, dashboards, reporting tools and large datasets.
- Familiarity with digital and analytics platforms is advantageous.
- Well‑organized, process- and team-oriented with the ability to prioritise quickly.
- Excellent communication, ability to work with all levels of management and internal/external customers, and deliver results quickly.
- Highly motivated self-starter, able to initiate and manage work with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to deliver ‘bad news’ and manage conflict to successful resolution.
- Capability to perform in a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment that constantly changes.
- Ability to build and maintain long‑term relationships.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally, including regular travel to the US, and attendance at 3‑5 industry conferences per year; flexibility for time‑zone differences and occasional out‑of‑hours work.
- Formal training in negotiations and/or demonstrated negotiation experience.
