Operation of handling equipment on site including 38 tonne material handler for the stacking, sorting, loading and export of scrap metal.
Responsibilities
- Ensure vehicles are loaded and unloaded in a safe and proper manner
- Assist with the loading and unloading of ships
- Safely stockpile various grades of scrap metal
- Ensure materials are stored in accordance with company policy
- Ensure daily checks are completed
- Attend any training courses that the company proposes
- Co-ordinate with other operatives to ensure the correct processing of all loads
- Process material to conform with grade specifications as directed by Site Supervisor
- Assist in the scheduling of inward and outward transport
- Liaise with customers, drivers and contractors who visit the site
- Ensure the working area is kept in a clean and tidy state at all times
- Perform such other duties as the Company may from time to time reasonably require
- Comply with all Company policies related to Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety and Community
Skills and Qualifications
- Material Handler or Excavator licence
- Previous experience in heavy plant
- Able to work flexible working hours to include occasional nights and weekends
