A vacancy has arisen for a machine operator (primarily telehandler) based at our Belfast facilities.
The purpose of the Machine Operator is to ensure the efficient operation of the processing plant by carrying out all activities necessary to ensure the safe transfer, loading, sorting and unloading of scrap metal and residual materials. To organise material to ensure good standards of housekeeping are met.
Key accountabilities of the Machine Operator include:
- Be an integral part of the processing team
- Ensure machine sorting bays are kept at appropriate levels to ensure efficient machine operation
- Ensure vehicles are loaded and unloaded in a safe and proper manner
- Safely stockpile various grades of scrap metal and residual materials
- Ensure materials are stored in accordance with company policy
- Ensure daily checks are completed
- Attend any training courses that the company proposes
- Ensure the working area is kept in a clean and tidy state at all times
- Perform such other duties as the Company may from time to time reasonably require
- Comply with all Company policies related to Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety and Community
Applicants must have good organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. The role requires the ability to stay calm and work well under pressure and to have a proven track record of working within a team environment.
A Telehandler licence is essential for this role
