Household name Plc seeks to recruit a commercial lawyer at a mid or senior grade to work within a busy legal department. Our client can consider full or part-time working. This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days in the office per week.
Responsibilities
- Undertaking a broad general commercial position advising the business and drafting/negotiating a range of contracts which can be very complex.
- Negotiating, drafting and advising on a range of contracts including supply of goods and services, JV, R&D, IT, IP or construction.
- Advice on data sharing and processing including GDPR.
- Corporate matters arising from assets and statutory functions including project or asset finance.
- Overseeing commercial disputes.
- Support to cutting edge projects including renewables.
- Regulatory oversight including changes in the law.
- Supporting colleagues where needed with other commercial matters.
- Mentoring more junior staff.
- Conducting internal training.
We are looking for:
- A UK qualified solicitor or barrister with at least of 4 years PQE.
- Well regarded law firm or inhouse experience, preferably but not essentially within a similar sector (infrastructure/construction/energy/utilities/engineering).
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
- Strong interpersonal, commercial and team skills.
- Confident and able to work with senior management.
