Description
McKenzie Douglas are representing a major global organisation, they are well established and well respected within the industry.
The role reports directly into the Head of Legal. You will also work closely with both the legal and business teams, especially business development, commercial and senior management and externally with counterparty legal advisers, external legal advisers, contract counterparties and customers.
Responsibilities
- Providing commercially focused legal advice on a broad range of projects
- Reviewing, negotiating, drafting agreements and conducting contract negotiations with project counterparties including development, construction, O&M, financing, offtake, joint venture and SaaS agreements for a wide range of projects
- Providing support on commercial and contractual matters for tenders, projects, variations and on‑going contractual and operational matters.
- Assisting on the governance of transactions at local and group level
We are looking for
- Qualified Solicitor – 3+ PQE
- You must have an understanding of the contractual framework surrounding energy projects in particular renewables within the UK energy market.
- Experience of energy projects preferred. Experience in or familiarity with hydrogen projects would be useful.
- Experience of negotiating bespoke construction and O&M agreements and also agreements based on industry standard forms in particular the JCT suite of contracts, NEC, FIDIC and IChemE.
