Household name PLC seeks to recruit an experienced litigator to work as Head of Claims. This is a maternity cover for up to 14 months.
Responsibilities
- To supervise the team who handles public liability and other third-party claims against the business both civil and from other businesses.
- Oversee training, performance assessment and technical support to the team.
- Responsible for the conduct of complex or high value claims.
- Embed relevant framework and processes within the organisation and with insurers and external suppliers.
- Provide advice on claims risk to the business and necessary action.
- Maintain standard documentation, and ensure protocols, court rules and procedures are followed.
- Manage external advisors.
We are looking for
- Qualified Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Execs, qualified solicitor or equivalent with at least 3 years PQE in relevant litigation.
- Expertise in relevant legal processes including pre-action protocols and Civil Procedure Rules in both the County and High Court.
- Prior experience managing other staff.
- Able to handle own complex caseload whilst managing a team.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Good IT skills.
