Offshore Renewables division of a FTSE 100 energy business seeks a Commercial or Construction Solicitor to support the business on major offshore projects. Hybrid – at least one day a week in a regional office required. An exciting opportunity to develop your legal skills in a high profile and rapidly evolving sector playing a critical role in supporting the transition towards net zero.

Responsibilities

  • You will provide legal advice and support to various stakeholders.
  • Providing high quality legal support on a variety of construction and commercial matters for the development of new offshore projects and once operating. These may include FIDIC, NEC, Logic, O&M, design, supply and installation agreements.
  • Gain a clear understanding of strategic priorities and assist in ensuring these are delivered.
  • Engage and manage external counsel.
  • Build and maintain good business relationships.
  • Mentor and manage more junior lawyers in the team.

We are looking for:

  • Qualified lawyer in either England and Wales, Scotland or Ireland.
  • Trained with a well-regarded law firm or in-house.
  • Confident solicitor with construction or commercial law experience.
  • Experience working on complex projects, with some exposure to renewable or offshore energy projects preferred.
  • Ideally experience drafting and negotiating various construction contracts such as FIDIC, NEC and O&M an advantage.
