Offshore Renewables division of a FTSE 100 energy business seeks a Commercial or Construction Solicitor to support the business on major offshore projects. Hybrid work model – at least one day a week in a regional office required. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your legal skills in a high-profile and rapidly evolving sector, playing a critical role in supporting the transition towards net zero.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and support to various stakeholders.
  • Offer high-quality legal support on a variety of construction and commercial matters related to new offshore projects and operational phases, including FIDIC, NEC, Logic, O&M, design, supply, and installation agreements.
  • Understand strategic priorities and assist in their delivery.
  • Engage and manage external counsel.
  • Build and maintain good business relationships.
  • Mentor and manage junior lawyers in the team.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified lawyer in England and Wales, Scotland, or Ireland.
  • Trained at a well-regarded law firm or in-house legal team.
  • Confident solicitor with experience in construction or commercial law.
  • Experience working on complex projects, with some exposure to renewable or offshore energy projects preferred.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating construction contracts such as FIDIC, NEC, and O&M is advantageous.
