Offshore Renewables division of a FTSE 100 energy business seeks a Commercial or Construction Solicitor to support the business on major offshore projects. Hybrid work model – at least one day a week in a regional office required. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your legal skills in a high-profile and rapidly evolving sector, playing a critical role in supporting the transition towards net zero.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and support to various stakeholders.
- Offer high-quality legal support on a variety of construction and commercial matters related to new offshore projects and operational phases, including FIDIC, NEC, Logic, O&M, design, supply, and installation agreements.
- Understand strategic priorities and assist in their delivery.
- Engage and manage external counsel.
- Build and maintain good business relationships.
- Mentor and manage junior lawyers in the team.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified lawyer in England and Wales, Scotland, or Ireland.
- Trained at a well-regarded law firm or in-house legal team.
- Confident solicitor with experience in construction or commercial law.
- Experience working on complex projects, with some exposure to renewable or offshore energy projects preferred.
- Experience drafting and negotiating construction contracts such as FIDIC, NEC, and O&M is advantageous.
