Overview

Conventional machinist/turner. Due to further expansion – this growing business who specialise in the repair of rotating equipment including electric motors, pumps and gearboxes is seeking an experienced Conventional Turner/Machinist.

Responsibilities

  • Conventional turning and milling using manual machinery.
  • The use of conventional machines and other machines to manufacture new parts
  • Working on small batch parts and taking responsibility of measuring worn or broken parts
  • Producing new parts taking into consideration bearing tolerances and machine threats
  • General bench fitting duties may be some of your responsibility.
  • On call work one in four
  • General repair of rotating machines, electric motors, pumps and gearboxes would be ideal.

To apply you will be

  • An experienced manual/conventional machinist/turner (NOT CNC)
  • General bench fitting experience would be ideal.
  • Must be available to be on call one week a month
  • Overtime available subject to workload
  • Experience of repairing rotating machines, electric motors, pumps & gearboxes would be ideal
  • Sound Engineering knowledge and a positive attitude
  • Flexibility, as overtime required often at short notice.

  • Excellent salary (dependant on skills and experience)
  • 20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays (increasing to 25 after 2 years)
  • OTE around £45,000 plus with overtime
