We're hiring an experienced Medical Assistant (MA) for a role that mixes hands‑on clinical MA work with ownership of our prior authorization and refill program. The clinic work keeps you connected to patients, while the coordinator work makes sure they can actually fill the prescriptions we send them home with.
A typical week looks like:
- Rooming patients, taking vitals, running point‑of‑care testing, and supporting our providers
- Owning the CoverMyMeds inbox, our dedicated PA fax line, and the electronic health record (EHR) refill queue
- Talking with pharmacies, payers, and patients about coverage, costs, and alternatives
- Cross‑training other MAs so they can back you up (and so you can take real PTO)
- Pulling a short monthly report on volume, turnaround, and where the program could improve
What we offer:
- Competitive pay, full medical/dental/vision, retirement match, and generous PTO
- NHSC loan repayment eligibility (we're an approved site)
- Paid CoverMyMeds and PA training in your first 30 days, plus ongoing CME
- A small team that knows each other's names and a leadership team that listens and cares
- Great work life balance – no evenings, weekends or holidays
Mountain Community Health is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of every background, identity, ability, and experience.
Requirements:
You’ll fit well if:
- You're a Medical Assistant with at least 1 year of experience; primary care or FQHC experience preferred
- You're calm on the phone with a PBM rep and equally calm explaining coverage to a worried patient
- You know your way around EHRs (or you're a quick learner)
- You like clean documentation and a tidy queue
Bonus: prior authorization experience, CoverMyMeds, 340B, MA certification, or a second language commonly spoken in our community are all a plus.
