About the role
We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our team in Redditch!
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will lead and develop our finance team while overseeing the effective day-to-day delivery of the accounts function.
You will be responsible for coordinating departmental workloads and ensuring our transactional finance, month-end, cash-management and general accounting activities are completed accurately and on time.
You will work closely alongside our Financial Controller, who leads on financial reporting, controls, compliance, audit and technical accounting.
Together, you will help provide a coordinated, reliable and effective finance service across the business.

Key responsibilities
As Finance Manager, you will
- Lead, manage and develop the finance team, setting clear objectives, responsibilities and service standards.
- Plan and allocate workloads to ensure appropriate cover and the timely completion of departmental activities.
- Oversee the day-to-day delivery of purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, banking, cash allocation and general accounting processes.
- Coordinate the operational month-end timetable, ensuring all required tasks, reconciliations and supporting information are completed accurately and on time.
- Review the quality and completeness of information provided for management
accounts and group reporting. - Oversee payment runs, customer receipts, bank reconciliations and other cash-management activities.
- Monitor debtor and creditor positions, aged balances and collection activity, escalating any material concerns where necessary.
- Support the Finance Director with budgets, forecasts and wider departmental priorities.
- Work closely with the Financial Controller to resolve reporting, control and technical accounting matters.
- Ensure agreed financial controls, delegated authorities and processes are understood and followed across the team.
- Identify and implement practical improvements to systems, workflows and ways of working.
- Maintain clear, accurate and up-to-date departmental procedures and process documentation.
- Build strong working relationships across the business and ensure finance queries are handled professionally and efficiently.
- Support the recruitment, induction, training and ongoing development of finance team members.
