- We're partnering with an innovative financial services business to appoint a
Legal Counsel to support the continued growth of its Banking as a Service (Baa S) and embedded finance propositions.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working closely with product, commercial, and technology teams to bring new propositions to market.
You'll play a key role in advising on strategic partnerships, product development, and the legal and regulatory frameworks that underpin Baa S solutions.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Providing practical, commercially focused legal advice across a range of Baa S and embedded finance initiatives.
- Supporting the design, development, and launch of innovative financial services products.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial and partnership agreements.
- Advising stakeholders on legal and regulatory risks while enabling business growth and innovation.
- Working closely with product, commercial, compliance, and regulatory teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Monitoring and interpreting relevant legal and regulatory developments within the financial services sector.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with relevant post-qualification experience.
- Strong knowledge of the UK financial services regulatory landscape.
- Experience advising on banking, lending, payments, embedded finance, or Banking as a Service propositions.
- Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Preferred Experience
- Previous in-house legal experience within a bank, fintech, financial institution, or regulated financial services business.
- Experience supporting
Banking as a Service (Baa S) , embedded finance, POS lending, payments, or digital banking propositions.
- Familiarity with working alongside product and technology teams in an agile or delivery-focused environment.
