Permanent hybrid working from office locations in Exeter, Tolvaddon, Norwich or Tewkesbury. Salary: up to £55,424 depending on PQE.

We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Lawyer / In-House Counsel to join a collaborative legal team, supporting a significant property portfolio and helping to deliver a robust funding and securitisation strategy. In this varied and influential role, you will provide specialist legal advice on property charging, securitisation, financing, and refinancing matters. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, development teams and external legal advisers to ensure properties are compliant, charge-ready and meet funder requirements, supporting long-term organisational growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support on property charging, securitisation, financing and refinancing matters.
  • Conduct legal due diligence on properties and resolve title issues and defects.
  • Ensure charging and securitisation processes remain compliant, efficient and robust.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand and meet funders' requirements.
  • Support the delivery of rolling security requirements across the property portfolio.
  • Instruct and manage external solicitors, ensuring transactions are completed on time and within budget.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, promoting best practice, innovation and risk awareness.
  • Mentor and support junior colleagues, contributing to their professional development.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive.
  • Substantial experience in real estate law.
  • Proven experience advising on property charging and securitisation matters.
  • Strong background in legal due diligence and resolving complex title issues.
  • Sound understanding of property charging, securitisation and lender requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality legal practice.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
  • Strong IT skills and a proactive approach to change and continuous improvement.
  • Experience supporting and developing junior team members.
