Azure Engineer, Apps Services, PaaS, DataBricks, SRE, Terraform, API, CI/CD
A leading provider of financial systems is seeking an Azure Engineer who can help, maintain, and support solutions across the full Azure domain across EMEA.
The role forms part of the larger Digital Client technology team, with a focus on maturing release and support processes and optimizing performance, supportability, scalability, and cost of our infrastructure. The successful candidate will also act as a key contact in the European time zone for escalations to L3 Support, Major Incidents, and release support.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills.
- Senior stakeholder management during complex changes and incidents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly with all levels within the team and with our internal customers, including Front Office executives.
- Highly developed critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Change and Incident Management.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team to achieve results.
- Able to work under tight timelines and deliver on complex problems.
Technical Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Strong Microsoft Azure knowledge and experience developing platform orchestration code in Azure Python SDK, Terraform, and GitHub Runners.
- Experience with automating (provisioning, configuration management, deployment) and integrating serverless PaaS solutions such as Azure App service, Azure Databricks, PaaS solutions (Azure SQL, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure SQL Datawarehouse, Azure Data Lake, Azure HDInsight, etc.).
- Write and use Azure RM templates and Terraform.
- Understand security features and Azure Data solutions (data protection, authentication, RBAC, audit logging…).
- Ability to troubleshoot Application connectivity/access to Azure data products (NSG, basic routing).
- Understand and develop concepts related to deploying databases via CI/CD pipeline.
- Ensure that all cloud solutions follow internally defined security and compliance controls.
- Implement the enterprise cloud capability and enhance the cloud orchestration platform for automated provisioning, management, and scalability of hosts, containers, applications, and cloud services.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cloud provisioning and administration, cloud bursting, cloud interoperability, cloud disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies, as well as performance measurement and monitoring in the cloud.
- Experience in Azure RBAC and integration with Active Directory and Pinged.
